The 13th edition of the Master of Science in International Business (MScIB) welcomes a diverse cohort of 39 students representing 21 nationalities. This program is designed to equip students with practical skills and in-depth knowledge across key areas of international business, including commercial strategy, finance, human resources, and operations. Students are trained to excel in managing, communicating, and negotiating in multicultural and global business environments.

A major development this year is the MScIB’s integration into the QTEM (Quantitative Techniques for Economics and Management) network — an exclusive international alliance that connects top-tier students, academic institutions, and global corporations.

This partnership offers students the opportunity to enhance their academic journey by extending their studies spending a term at one of the network’s partner universities, where they will refine their analytical expertise essential for informed decision-making in an international context.

The opportunity to participate in QTEM adds significant value to the MScIB program. As Mercè Roca, Academic Director of the MScIB, explains: “Although only a few MScIB courses are quantitatively focused, some of the specializations and career paths our students pursue demand quantitative expertise. Joining the QTEM program allows those students inclined toward such careers to acquire complementary skills that enhance the core competencies offered by the MScIB.”

There are, in total, four master programs of the UPF that are participating in the QTEM network: the MSc in Management, the MSc in Finance, the MSc in Marketing and the MSc in International Business. Mircea Epure, Dean for UPF-BSM in the QTEM network, stresses that: “The QTEM network fosters powerful collaborations between top business schools, corporate leaders, and social partners, providing students with real-world data and experiences. This approach cultivates the multicultural skills essential for shaping the next generation of global leaders. Importantly, the QTEM alumni network is rapidly growing and serves as an exceptional gateway to securing successful job placements.”
